Frequently Asked Questions
Here are a few answers to the most common photography session questions!
Please feel free to contact me if you'd like more details or if I can answer any more of your inquiries!
Q: What do we wear?
A: 2 major rules:
- Something you're comfortable in
- Something that expresses YOU!
Those truly are the most important rules for your outfit on photo day. Putting more stress on it than that can take away the fun of your photos! These photos are for you, so you should be sure your clothing makes you happy and it represents you.

Q: Where will we take photos?
A.:I like to tailor each session to the individual - including locations! Is there a place that is significant to you, your partner, or your family? Are you a beach person, woodsy person, or do you love urban city streets? The answers to these questions will help us determine the best location for you and your loved ones!
Some of my favorite Hampton Roads locations include:
- Colonial Williamsburg
- Historic Yorktown
- Fort Monroe
Q: When will we get our photos?
A: My turn around time is roughly 14 days, but I do try to make it much sooner! Once your watermarked photos have been uploaded to your own personalized gallery, you can choose your images (the amount dependent on your photo session). I remove the watermark within 24 hours and your photos will be ready for download!
Q: Do you have props?
A; Yes! Below is a small list of a few props that can be included in your session for FREE! Have a particular prop you'd like that I don't have? We can see about making it and adding it to your session for a small fee!
- Letter boards
- Chalk boards
- Fairy lights
- Bouqets
- Blankets
- Picnic basket
- Baby shoes
Q: When's the best time for photos?
A: The most important thing about time is what works for you. Busy work schedules, kiddo's nap times, and weather are all things I try to work around so that you don't have to wait forever to get your photos done!
"Golden hour" (an hour after sunrise or an hour before sunset) tends to offer the softest, most flattering light so I do aim most sessions around those times. However, we can have your session ANY time and it will still be beautiful!
Q: Can I bring my pet?
A: Of course! A furmom of 4, I know all too well that furbabies deserve to be part of family photos and enjoy the photo session too! I will work with you to ensure we give you and your pets the best possible photo session
