I first met Amie and her sweet family in February for a Valentine's Day Mini session. I immediately knew this was a family I'd hope to see again in the future! They are so kind hearted and easy-going, and the laughs they have with each other makes capturing memories with them so fun

And just look at little Cooper's expressions from the mini day!

So when she reached out again for some family photos in Yorktown, I could not have been more excited.

We set the date and carefully planned, but of course, if you live in Virginia you know the weather can change quicker than a toddler grabbing something you don't want them to grab! An hour before the session, it DOWN-POURED. I got so scared that the session had to be cancelled. Luckily, it stopped just in time and the rain left the sand packed, which made it much easier to walk on. I was so glad!

I love their coordinated outfits!

Cooper was so much fun to work with. He is so expressive - and the hands in his pockets are just too cute!

Of course, kids are always on their own time schedule. When they're done, they're done! But I think capturing those moments too are so important - because it's true to life! Never stress too hard if a kiddo decides they don't want more photos. Just go with the flow (or the waves!) and let them be them.

I mean seriously, Cooper's expressions here are just as adorable as his smiling ones!

Every family session is devoted to capturing authentic family moments. All the laughs, all the quirks, all the love. With Amie and her family, it was definitely easy to do so!
