Boudoir Tips & Tricks

Your boudoir experience is coming up and I am BEYOND excited!

As someone who has struggled with self-love and self-acceptance, I know how hard it can be to like the person in the mirror. This day and age makes it hard to see passed the beauty standards that Instagram filters and Photoshop put on women.

But a boudoir session knocks all that down. You get back down to basics - you, yourself, and YOU.

Your body, miraculous and beautiful as it is, has carried you through every single hardship and struggle life has thrown your way. It's filled with the passion that has triumphed so many mountains. It's carried miracles, held wisdom, and laughed in the face of danger.

So let's embrace it! Every curve, every dimple, every single inch!

These Tips will help make your session perfect - just like you! Please don't hesitate to message me if you have questions, concerns, ideas, or just want to chat!

Tips & Tricks

  1. TREAT YOURSELF!
  2. Hair/Makeup: I can provide a professional Hair & Makeup Artist - but you don't have to use them if you don't want that cost. But I do recommend doing some type of hair and makeup! No, we don't need makeup to be beautiful - it just adds to the whole pampering experience! Give yourself a few trial runs the week of if you do your makeup and hair yourself, just so you know the look you're going for!
  3. Nails: We'll be photographing your hands in your hair, and your bare feet. Getting a mani/pedi the week of would be a great way to be sure they look picture ready
  4. Skin: Moisturize with plenty of your favorite lotion and drink plenty of water 2 weeks leading up to your session. DO NOT try new skin care products close to your session. The worst thing would be an allergic reaction to something new!
  5. Hair Removal: I recommend shaving the night before or waxing a few days prior if you wish
  6. Leave the Lines at home!
  7. Don't wear a bra, tight underwear, or socks the morning of your session. They can leave lines on your body that can take hours to go away. Stick with loose clothing before your session!
  8. I bloat - A LOT
  9. if you do too, I suggest staying away from salty or sensitive foods the morning of. BUT be sure you eat something! Not eating the day of your session won't make you feel better - it'll just make ya hangry.
  10. It's kind of like YOGA
  11. we're going to be doing LOTS of stretching. Practice arching your back the week of your session to start loosening up those muscles! Find a hard surface, stand straight against it, and slowly arch your back so only your butt and TOP of your head touch the wall. I promise, it'll look gorgeous the day of!
  12. Pack your car the day before
  13. It happens often - thee favorite outfit you really wanted to bring and told yourself you wouldn't forget, lays on your bed, forgotten. Pack all your items the day before that way it's ready to go the next day!
  14. Outfits
  15. We can do anywhere from 1-3 outfits with a 45-60 minute session. Get creative, feel sexy!
  16.  It doesn't have to be lingerie. Maybe it’s jeans that accent your curves nicely or an oversized shirt, coffee mug, and book that bring you to your happy place. You know you; you know what you feel sexy in so bring those items, whatever they are.
  17. Try on your outfits at least 1-2 weeks before your session in case you need to exchange sizes, colors, or outfits all together.
  18. Some of my favorite places to shop are: Adoreme.com, LoveHoney, or AdamandEve

BIGGEST TIP OF ALL:

7 . Come prepared to have fun, enjoy yourself, laugh, and feel like a million bucks!
