A Yorktown Birthday

When I was growing up, the only photos we had taken were either school photos or at the Walmart/Sears photo kiosks. I'm not complaining at all - I loovvee the very 90's feel that my childhood photos have (crazy posing, backgrounds that remind you of early hip-hop albums, horrid dresses with lapels and lace) but I love that we live in a day and age where families can remember important milestones in their children's lives with personalized photo sessions!

And that's what Carolyn's parents wanted to do for her first birthday!

Carolyn was named after her great-grandmother who adored butterflies. So we met in Yorktown near the Victory Monument and let Carolyn run the show with some butterfly-themed props I brought along!

Her adorable smirks and expressive personality made the session so much fun!

And just look at her baby blues!

We were even able to get in a few family photos too!
